MYOFASCIAL RELEASE

What is Fascia?

Fascia is a tough connective tissue which spreads in a three dimensional web throughout the body without interruption. Trauma, poor posture, surgical procedures and injury/inflammation can create a binding down or stiffening of the fascia. This can cause increased pressure on nerves, muscles, joints and organs resulting in pain, headaches, loss of range of motion, poor posture, and decreased joint mobility.

What is Myofascial Release?

Myofascial Release (MFR) is a safe and effective “hands on” approach to the e
valuation and treatment of fascial restrictions in the body. A trained MFR therapist will use gentle, sustained pressure to facilitate a stretch and release of the restricted fascia. Restoring the length and health of the fascia will take pressure off of nerves, muscles, joints and organs reducing the patient’s pain and improve the patient’s alignment and joint mobility.

What Conditions can be treated with MFR?

  • Acute and chronic pain
  • TMJ
  • HA
  • Back Pain
  • Bursitis
  • Joint pain
  • Neck Pain
  • Pelvic Pain
  • Frozen Shoulder
  • Degenerative Disc Disease
